This project reconfigures and extends a previously unmodernised 1930s semi-detached house, transforming it into a generous and functional family home.

A new rear extension reorganises the ground floor into open, connected spaces for cooking, dining, and gathering—framed by a strong relationship to the south-facing garden. To the side, the former garage has been rebuilt and extended to match the neighbouring building line, accommodating a new bedroom, bathroom, and ancillary spaces. The first floor has been fully refurbished, offering three bedrooms and a family bathroom.

Two new single-storey volumes respond quietly to the domestic scale of the original house and its context. Their simple massing and pale palette of handmade white brick, concrete copings, and metal-framed glazing introduce a discreet yet refined intervention to the garden elevation.

Natural light is brought deep into the plan through the fully glazed garden façade and a large overhead rooflight. Inside, a continuous pale oak floor connects new and existing spaces, and the restrained use of colour and materials creates a calm and cohesive atmosphere throughout.

Este proyecto reconfigura y amplía una casa pareada de los años 30, originalmente sin modernizar, transformándola en una vivienda familiar generosa y funcional.

Una nueva extensión posterior reorganiza la planta baja, creando espacios abiertos y conectados para cocinar, comer y reunirse, con una relación directa hacia el jardín orientado al sur. Hacia el costado, el antiguo garaje fue reconstruido y ampliado, alineándose con la volumetría vecina, para incorporar un nuevo dormitorio, baño y espacios de apoyo. La planta alta se renovó completamente, ofreciendo tres dormitorios y un baño familiar.

Dos volúmenes de un piso dialogan silenciosamente con la escala doméstica de la casa original y su entorno. Su geometría simple y paleta clara—ladrillo blanco hecho a mano, remates de hormigón visto y ventanas enmarcadas en metal—introducen una intervención sutil pero precisa hacia el jardín.

La luz natural entra profundamente a través de la fachada acristalada hacia el jardín y una gran lucarna en la cubierta. Al interior, un piso continuo de roble claro une las áreas nuevas con las existentes, y el uso contenido de materiales y colores genera una atmósfera tranquila y cohesionada.
