Located on the eastern side of Santiago, Residence 195 is the complete renovation of a 19th-floor apartment in a high-rise residential building. The project reimagines the apartment to open toward expansive views of the Manquehue hills and the distant Andes mountains.

The interior is defined by a sense of calm and precision, using a reduced palette of carefully selected materials to create a minimalist yet warm atmosphere. The result is a refined space that feels both spacious and intimate.

The apartment was stripped back to its core structure to allow for a full reconfiguration. Living spaces and bedrooms are placed along the façade to maximise natural light, ventilation, and direct access to the panoramic balcony. Support spaces are located deeper into the plan, creating a clear spatial hierarchy.

The layout was opened to allow long visual connections and natural flow across the apartment. Views and light move through the space, reinforcing the connection to the surrounding landscape.

Lleuque wood, native to southern Chile, is used consistently across floors and custom furniture designed by the studio. Beds were crafted in Mañío, another native species, reinforcing the material continuity and character of the space.

The project celebrates the essential qualities of natural materials, proportion, and simplicity—bringing the surrounding landscape into dialogue with the interior world.

Ubicado en el sector oriente de Santiago, Residencia 195 es la renovación total de un departamento en el piso 19 de un edificio residencial en altura. El proyecto reimagina el espacio interior para abrirse a vistas amplias hacia los cerros Manquehue y la cordillera de los Andes.

El nuevo interior se caracteriza por una atmósfera serena y precisa, lograda mediante una paleta reducida de materiales cuidadosamente seleccionados. El resultado es un ambiente minimalista, pero cálido, que combina amplitud con intimidad.

El departamento fue completamente desmontado hasta su estructura base, permitiendo una reconfiguración integral. Los espacios principales—como dormitorios y áreas sociales—se ubican hacia la fachada, maximizando luz natural, ventilación cruzada y el acceso a un balcón continuo con vistas abiertas. Las áreas secundarias se disponen hacia el interior del volumen, marcando una jerarquía espacial clara.

El diseño abre las visuales al máximo, permitiendo una fluidez espacial y una relación directa con el paisaje exterior, que se convierte en protagonista dentro del hogar.

La madera de Lleuque, nativa del sur de Chile, se utiliza tanto en los pisos como en los muebles diseñados por el estudio. Las camas fueron fabricadas con Mañío, reforzando la continuidad material y el carácter del lugar.

El proyecto expresa la belleza esencial de los materiales nobles, las proporciones justas y la simplicidad llevada a su máxima expresión.
